Do you have any secrets? If you do, are some of those secrets resting, not so safely, on your computer's hard drive? If you're like me, you may have some information that you would like to remain confidential. I'm going to give you a link to a free program called TrueCrypt. This program is an encryption utility; your confidential information can only be utilized with the use of a password, and without that password, the information on your hard drive remains private, scrambled, and undecipherable. In my opinion, this is a great program! It's fast, reliable, stable, very useful, and best of all it's free! It comes with good documentation, and after the first couple of times you run it, it's very easy-to-use. Here is a link to the installation file. Download the file and then double left click. Follow the instructions. At my suggestion, the Health Dept. is now using this program to protect some of their confidential medical information.

I admit it, I’m a computer geek! I am currently running an AMD, 3 GHz quad core, 940 black box edition CPU on an Asus M4N72-E motherboard. This baby resides in an Antec high-end gaming case with about six fans! An Antec 750 W power supply runs the system very stably, and has plenty of reserve. I have around 5 Tb of hard disk storage space, and my favorite peripheral is a 5.1 surround sound audio system with a great subwoofer! If you have a geek like me at home, consider yourself lucky!

Do you notice your computer running slower as time goes by? You can try cleaning your registry to see if it helps! Your registry accumulates errors with time, which can make your machine run slow or do some strange things! The link to the program below, Glary Utilities, will give you a tool that will correct your registry errors, clean up your hard drive, and do a quick check for nasty programs, all with one click. The free version does a lot of other neat stuff also, like giving you a tool to encrypt files and make self extracting executable archives, which can come in handy if you want to do something like create vault files as I have below! You should check out this program for its other cool stuff to, like a startup and the memory manager. Here is your link:

You can download the files below to get neat stuff! They are encrypted, compressed, self executable archives. Don’t worry if you don’t know what that means. Download the files, and then double left click on them like you would for a program. A text box will open asking for a password. This is the password you will get from me, after you e-mail me and I can verify that I know you and trust you and you are indeed a friend. After you do this you will have a compressed zip file, which you should be able to open by double left clicking on the file. Enjoy! I may be adding more vault files later.
